Visited the workhouse while visiting Ripon and thought it was brilliant. Bought a bargain multi ticket which also gives access to the prison and courthouse museums nearby - 13(now 15) and unlimited entry for a year. The site is fully accessible with toilets, no cafe but a small shop selling souvenirs. Tour at your own speed with a paper guide. Staff around the site ready to answer any questions you may have. Cafe not a problem as plenty of places available in the town centre 5 mins away. Parking available in the public car park also 5 mins walk from the museum.

Brilliant,,. A real insight to the past,, well presented,, lost I suspect on the youth of today,,

Visited here for a ghost hunt so didn't get to see much of the museum with the lights on but from what I did see it looked very interesting. Alot of original furnishings Upstairs was out of bounds as unstable apparently.

This place is absolutely superb. I soaked up every detail and noted all the info in order to update my family history page when I get home. It was not as forbidding as I expected a workhouse to be and I would have loved a piping hot bath filled with my favourite bubbles. I shall definitely return and explore the other two museums in the near future. Just spent too much time in the workhouse.

Brilliant insight into the past with much to explore. Suggest planning for at least a couple of hours visit to make it worthwhile. Brought alive by passionate volunteers who tell stories about how it used to be. Best museum I've visited for a long while.
