Lovely little place. Drinks and food are great - cakes are fresh and homemade, taste great. Clean and well run. Staff are friendly and attentive.

The best scones ever! Staff is very friendly, food is fresh, very affordable pricing, the lunch menu is huge. Would definitely recommend for lunch to taste traditional British food.

We use the Wakeman quite often - delightful corner of the square in Ripon and fab food. I especially love the rarebit with a couple of poached eggs on top; actually I like most of the food here - and the scones. Oh, and the cakes.
